Tendai Rinos Mwanaka is a publisher, editor, mentor, thinker, literary artist, visual artist and musical artist with over 20 books published.He writes in English and Shona. BIO NOTES OFCONTRIBUTORS

AtheneNyarai Mutyambizi was born in Zimbabwe in 1988. She did her Primary, Secondary and tertiary education in Zimbabwe. Currently she holds a BSC Honours Degree in Computer Science and is currently an Associate member of IITPSA, certified PHP Engineer and MCSA. She likes to program, read and write poetry during her spare time. She has a passion for gender based issues and youth empowerment initiatives and is working towards starting an organisation that will enable youth to get education and support so as to realise their optimum potential.
Dimakatso  Sedite  is a  South African poet and writer. Her poems have been published in Aerodrome, Botsotso, Hello Poetry, Poetry Café, Poetry Potion, and on her blog,nala4za.iblog.co.za.  Her other poems will appear in Kalahari Review in November 2018. She was a finalist in Poetry in McGregor Poetry Competition 2018, and won the Poetry Open Mic Competition at the 2018 Jozi Book Fair. One of her poems appears in an anthology: ‘Botsotso 18: From Private and Public Places’. She studied poetry at South African  Writers’ College  and holds a Research Psychology Masters degree (University of the Witwatersrand). 
Adré Marshall was born in the Eastern Cape but has lived in Cape Town for most of her life. Over the years, she has taught English at various universities including the University of Cape Town where she was awarded a Ph.D. She is the author of a book on Henry James and her poetry has been published in numerous journals, including Carapace, New Contrast, English Academy Review and Stanzas. Now retired, she does freelance translation work.
Aleck Kaposa born 3 April 1975, is a teacher and author of the books A Bag of Memories (short stories, pub 2013),The Big Yellow Train, There was a Fly, After the Rain(poems) andThe Magician(2017),which in 2018 got him another NAMA AWARD nomination in the OUTSTANDING CHILDREN’S BOOK category. In 2004 Kaposa founded and edited The New Voices Magazine for which he got his first nomination in the 2008 NAMA AWARDS in Outstanding First Creative Published Work category. In 2009 he founded a private school, Norton Education Centre in Norton in Zimbabwe, which he runs as Principal and Director. 
Andrew Nyongesa is a novelist, poet, short story writer, teacher and literary critic. Most of works of fiction are prose with post colonialism as the underlying canon. He is a PhD student of literature at Kenyatta University and assistant lecturer at Mount Kenya University, Main Campus.

Vita Léo est le nom artistique de Marie Vita Léonard, restauratrice et peintre haïtienne, installée à Perpignan dans le sud de la France depuis 2005. Elle a commencé à peindre en 2008 en raison d'une rupture de sa relation conjugale. Elle fait de la peinture acrylique, mettant l’accent sur les difficultés et les expériences de la vie. Celui-ci est son tout premier poème, portant sur l’amour. Vita parle français et créole haïtien.

Akere-Maimo J. Ano-Ebie is a multitalented poet from Cameroon, aged 37. He is the Communications Expert of PRESEC/SNV Cameroon. Ayi Renaud DOSSAVI-ALIPOEHest un écrivain (poète, essayiste et nouvelliste) et blogueur togolais. Né en septembre 1993 à Lomé, il est biologiste de formation. Il a publié à ce jour cinq livres dont Rosées Lointaines (2015), Chants de Sable (2018) (poésie) et Nous et l’histoire (2018) (essai sur l’histoire africaine). Nkwetatang Sampson Nguekie est né le 06 novembre 1972 à Mmuock-Leteh dans le Département de Lebialem au Cameroun. Il a étudié au Lycée Bilingue de Bamenda et à l'Université de Yaoundé 1. Nnane is a Youth Advocate for Peace and Democracy, an activist for change, an actress, founder of Youth Centre for Progress (YOCEP) and Breaking P=oint. She believes in using poetry for change and bringing poetry to life through poetry drama.
Kariuki wa Nyamu is an award-winning Kenyan poet, script writer, film director, editor, translator, literary critic and educator. He earned a BA Education (Literature and English) from Makerere University, Uganda. He is anthologized in A Thousand Voices Rising, Boda Boda Anthem and Other Poems, Best New African Poets Anthologies; 2015, 2016, 2017, Experimental Writing: Volume 1, Africa Vs Latin America Anthology, The Mamba Journal of African Haiku, among others. Kariuki, who recently co-authored a Children’s Poetry and Short Story Anthology titled When Children Dare to Dream, is presently pursuing a Master of Arts in Literature at Kenyatta University, Kenya. 
Okey Ifeachor is a writer, author, poet and journalist who has practiced both in the print and broadcast media spanning several years and was privileged to report activities at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja. Until recently, he was the Head of News at Dasamal Television Network, Abuja. Some of his poems have been published in national newspapers and magazines as well as in an Anthology New Voices. He is currently a doctorate student in Theology. He is a member of Nigeria Union of Journalists, Associate Member Nigeria Institute of Public Relations and Associate Member Nigeria Institute of Management.
Born on 1 October 1975, Patrick Hwande is a Zimbabwean poet and playwright. He lives in Gokwe where he is teaching at a Primary School. Most of his literal work has been published in Chishona, his indigenous language. At one time he was a chief poet at Africa Community Publishing and Development Trust. Hwande usually performs his poems and plays at social gatherings in Gokwe Nembudzia. He says he will never put the pen off the paper until his proverbial call to Heaven.
Peter Yieko Ndiwa: I was born in rural Kenya in 1986. I started writing Poetry in 2007 after I enrolled for English/Literature degree course at Kenyatta University. I published my first full volume of poetry anthology in 2014 ‘The World Far away and other poems’ and have since been published in various anthologies around the world. I am inspired to write by human suffering.

While doing his A level at Dotito High in Mount Darwin, he became a Junior Councilor in the Pfura Rural District Junior Council. During his High School, Revash was much into debating and he won the best speaker award in Mount Darwin 2016. He sees poetry as a way one can use to speak to the world.

Christine Coates, a poet and writer from Cape Town, holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of Cape Town. Her poems and stories have been published in various literary journals. She has two collections; Homegrown, published in 2014, by Modjaji Books, received an honourable mention from the Glenna Luschei Prize, and FIRE DROUGHT WATER published by Damselfly in 2018. Christine’s poems have been selected for the EU Sol Plaatje Poetry anthologies 2011 – 2018, Best “New” African Poets 2015, 2016, 2017 Anthologies. Her short stories have been highly commended. Coates recently participated in the inaugural Rutanang Book Fair in Potchefstroom and the Cape Town Open Book Festival. She was a judge in the PEN International New Voices Award 2016.
Daniel Many Owiti is a Kenyan creative writer. He writes poems, articles and short stories. His interest is in African literature and most of his poems revolve around Luo culture and contemporary issues affecting youths. He participated in the inaugural Nyanza Literary festival (NALIF-2016) where he emerged a first runners-up. Pelonomi Itumeleng is a 25-year-old South African mother of one and third year B.Ed student at the Sol Plaatjie University. Tatenda Murigo is a youthful Zimbabwean poet, steadily rising in the world of art in the African society. She is passionate about writing, mainly focused on areas of self-love, healing, growth and African empowerment. She has been published in a number of journals including Women of Inspiration to name but a few. She is an active public speaker and an art activist in Africa.
Richard Mbuthia is a teacher, a poet, an editor and a motivational speaker. He has great passion for poetry. His is passionate about helping to inculcate and develop the poetic craft in children. He is also a published poet in books and in different forums online. Some of his poetry books are: The Setting Noon and Other Poems (2017), Letters of Gold (2017) and Bounding for Light (2018). The last two are children’s poetry anthologies he compiled and edited.

Antonio Garcia is currently a visiting scholar at New York University, Centre on International Cooperation. An experienced project and programme manager he has worked in various contexts including international NGOs and the military. As a visiting lecturer he has taught at Durham University (UK) and New York University as well as at various military colleges and schools, He also holds an adjunct faculty position at the University of South Africa and has been an instructor at the University of the People. Antonio has published in academic and professional journals, and has also published in poetry and literature anthologies. He is also a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, certified Chartered Geographer (RGS-IBG), Project Management Professional (Project Management Institute) and is a PhD candidate at Stellenbosch University.
My name is Xolile Mabuza, and I am a 21-year-old poet from South Africa(Lihawu a township after Nelspruit). I began writing and performing three years ago out of love for the written and spoken word.Growing up, I was always quiet. I believed that my voice did not matter, which encouraged a fear in myself, in my voice. I could not trust my words. But then I started writing and performing poetry. I started speaking. I write about things I couldn't talk about: the pain, the lessons, and experiences that have brought me to where I am now. I'm healing myself through my work, and it has always been my dream to share my healing, my voice with the world.This year August I was a resident writer for Naane Le Moya where some of my short stories where published.

CALL FOR POEMS BEST “NEW” AFRICAN POETS 2019 ANTHOLOGY We are calling for BEST 1-3 poems per poet from Africa (living in Africa) or of African diasporas (one of the parents originated from Africa) to be included in BEST “NEW” AFRICAN POETS 2019 ANTHOLOGY . Poems of any topic, form…preferably less than 40 lines but we will read and consider longer poems too, must be in any African indigenous language of Africa plus French, English, and Portuguese. Those in local African indigenous languages should be accompanied by a translation into French, or English or Portuguese. “New” in form, style, poetry making, thinking, writing, living. Tell us about yourself. I am Oscar Gwiriri born on 15 June 1975 at Honde Valley, Eastern Highlands, Zimbabwe. I am a published writer featured in 4 anthologies; Shaurai Nduri Dzazuro Nedzanhasi, Gwatakwata reNhetembo, Hodzeko Yenduri, Mupakwa werwendo, and three English anthologies;  A tribute to Penny; Africa, UK, and Ireland: Writing Politics and Knowledge Production Vol 1; and Best “New” African Poets 2017 Anthology (BNAP).
